Pataya Guide

Now a general public perception of Pattaya has been changing as what the city really offers is far beyond beaches and entertainment. No matter what you are opt for - eg. beaches, accommodations, international cuisines, shopping malls or a water park, Pattaya has them all. There are a few brand new tourist places in the Greater Pattaya area like Pattaya Floating Market, Ang Sila Old Market and Pattaya Old Town in Na Klua County, presenting traditional ways of life of the local folks.

One day excursion in the Greater Pattaya is very convenient (just 90 minutes' drive from Bangkok) and cheap (only one full gas tank). The overnight stay is such an attractive option too with the variety of attractions and accommodations to choose from. On this site, we divided attractions in the Greater Pattaya into the following topics: Beaches, The Most Visited Places, Excursions from Pattaya and Nearby Island.
Beaches.

The place for all diversity.

The Most Famous Beach Resort on the East of Thailand.

Pattaya is 147 km. southeast of Bangkok and adjoins the Gulf of Thailand. It is Thailand's premier and most successful beach resort which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of pleasure-seeking visitors from all over the world.

Being close to the sea, the adjoining beaches of Pattaya City, from Naklua Bay to Wong Phrachan (Crescent Moon) and Wong Amat beaches in the north down to Jomtien and Na Jomtien beaches in the south, cover a total length of about 20 km. In the past, only the area of Pattaya Bay known as Pattaya beach played an important role in the tourism aspect. For now, the increasing popularity of tourism in Pattaya has made all of its adjacent beaches so lively.
For the past centuries, Pattaya was a small fishing village almost cut off from the outside world. After its beauty was discovered by the first group of American servicemen from Nakhon Ratchasima in 1961, the sleepy Pattaya gradually became a famous beach resort.

With the recent establishment of the industrial estates of Laem Chabang to the north and that of Map Ta Phut to the south, Pattaya has been developing to be a major business centre and pleasing residence for western expatriates.

The Place for All Tastes.

For sun lovers and water-sports fans, Pattaya's sunny climate provides ideal conditions for swimming and all other imaginable water activities, including jet-skiing, boat sailing, speed-boating, water-scooter riding, water skiing, parasailing, scuba diving and windsurfing.

For those who do not want to get drenched, Pattaya also has gyms and health clubs for exercise and many kinds of land sports and games to choose from, such as shooting, car racing, horse riding, archery, golf, bowling, tennis, go-kart, paintball, etc

Spa in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is a northern province of Thailand.

You can visit one of the many beautiful Buddhist temples, go trekking in the mountains, rafting in the rainy season, have a great meal, or visit one of our spas. Chiang Mai is a medium sized city with a lot of spas.

Thai culture is respectful, warm, and welcoming. The spas in Chiang Mai demonstrate these qualities in such delightful ways. You begin to feel more relaxed and nurtured as soon as you arrive.

I've found the spa receptionists have more than adequate English skills and are happy to assist you in finding the treatment that will best serve you. Many of the spas provide a refreshing drink while you choose your pleasure.

We have spas that offer Ayurveda, warm stone massage, colonic cleansing, and other specialized treatments. You may need to do some homework to find the spa right for you.

I would suggest going to Chiang Mai Spa thaitravelsource.blogspot.com where we do reviews of spas and have a complete directory of spas in Chiang Mai, including a description of the services each offers.

A spa treatment is a wonderful way to get over any stiffness from a long plane trip and I think you will be glad you did it. Good luck, hope you enjoy a relaxing and maybe even transcendent experience at a Chiang Mai spa

How to buy a house in Thailand

Why look for Thailand property?

Thailand is a diverse and colorful country that is the home of a booming tourist industry. This is why many foreign investors will want to get a home in Thailand.

Here are a few useful tips to bear in mind when purchasing Thailand real estate:

1. Consult a registered Thai lawyer

A registered Thai lawyer can help you if you're a foreigner who does not understand how the local real estate market works. With Thailand homes for sale, you will require legal advice from an expert.

They are going to explain local real estate laws and ensure that any language barriers you encounter isn't going to prevent you from understanding your contract. Using the services of Thai lawyers is a smart move because they're useful sources of information and expertise.

Avoid becoming one of those businessmen that buy properties in Thailand without familiarizing themselves with the procedures. With a real estate agent at your side, you are able to avoid any legal problems while safeguarding your property.

2. Understand the Thailand Amity Treaty

Foreign investors must follow a standard procedure in accordance to the Thailand Amity treaty. They will need to confirm the rules concerning corporate taxes prior to becoming owners of any commercial property.

3. Consider the rules and regulations when you look for Thailand homes for sale

Foreign investors must always do their research and fully grasp local real estate policies and regulations before buying a Thailand property. Thai residents will be able to register property ownership under residential purposes. There are specific limits for foreigners.

Foreigners can only own 1 Rai or 0.39 acres. For those who wish to put up a business, their investment needs to be around 30 million Baht or 1 million US dollar. The 'Ministry of Interior' will need to approve all of your documents

4. Check rules on Visa regulation and fees on taxes and property transfers.

Again, a Thai lawyer can help you understand Visa regulations of Thailand. Knowing how long you want to stay will allow you to enjoy your property without any hassles. Understand the taxes and transfer fees before getting the deed of ownership.

5. Select reliable homebuilders with a good track record

A good broker can protect your interests. This person will make sure that the rates and prices you're quoted fall within industry standards.

Geography of Thailand

GEOGRAPHY

The kingdom of Thailand lies in the heart of Southeast Asia, making it a natural gateway to Indochina, Myanmar and Southern China. Its shape and geography divide into four natural regions : the mountains and forests of the North; the vast rice fields of the Central Plains; the semi-arid farm lands of the Northeast plateau; and the tropical islands and long coastline of the peninsula South.

The country comprises 76 provinces that are further divided into districts, sub-districts and villages. Bangkok is the capital city and centre of political, commercial, industrial and cultural activities. It is also the seat of Thailand's revered Royal Family, with His Majesty the King recognised as Head of State, Head of the Armed Forces, Upholder of the Buddhist religion and Upholder of all religions.

Thailand is a constitutional monarchy with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, or King Rama IX, the ninth king of the Chakri Dynasty, the present king. The King has reigned for more than half a century, making him the longest reigning Thai monarch. Thailand embraces a rich diversity of cultures and traditions. With its proud history, tropical climate and renowned hospitality, the Kingdom is a never-ending source of fascination and pleasure for international visitors.
